BAEN's custom equine database system offers advanced search functions to allow users to find specific information quickly. More importantly, it allows users to directly manage their own Classified Ads, business and event listings via a user control panel, and includes other helpful features such as keyword searching and "BAENmail" which conceals email addresses from spammers.

Attention, all California Equine Businesses, Clubs and Associations!    BAEN's database-driven directory is self-serve; you can easily post and edit your own listings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All you need is a user ID and password. There is no charge for this service and you won't be added to an advertising mailing list.

Don't have a user name and password? Go to www.bayequest.com/reg_user.php and sign up, then click the link "Logon now" on the confirmation screen.

Already have your user ID and password? Go to www.bayequest.com/userlogon.php and log on to your control panel, then select the link "Submit a new listing" under Business Directory.

Do I have to be a paid BAEN member to post business listings, ads, or events?

No, anyone can become a Registered User regardless of membership status. Registration is free of charge. Paid BAEN Members receive a variety of additional benefits such as bold/enlarged listings flagged with our Member button, Priority Ranking in the directory and Classified Ads, discounts on paid advertising, and more; see www.bayequest.com/static/web_pr.htm for details. Note: Business listings, Classified Ads and events must be located in California unless otherwise specified.

Am I going t o get a bunch of spam or junk mail from BAEN if I become a Registered User?

No. Unlike many web directories BAEN does not participate in direct email marketing to users or members, nor do we sell or share contact information with others. We do offer an opt-in monthly e-Newsletter. Please see our Privacy Policy, and our Tips on Preventing Spam.

The answer to this is No and Maybe. (1) No: Registered Users will not be added to an advertising mailing list. Registered users may occasionally receive emails from BAEN alerting them to important user issues, but whenever possible we will post these alerts on our News and Updates page rather than send them by email. Unlike many web directories BAEN does NOT participate in direct email marketing to users or members, nor do we sell or share your contact information with others. Please see our Privacy Policy. If you choose to include an email link in your business listing, your actual email address will be concealed. (2) Maybe: While BAENmail conceals your address from harvesting programs, remember that our site is open to the public. This means that if you include an email link in your listing, anyone can manually click on that link to send you a BAENmail message. See our Tips on Preventing Spam.

Does your system provide any protection against spammers and email harvesting programs?

Yes. BAEN uses a custom email system called 'BAENmail'. This email system operates from BAEN's server and conceals the address of the recipient while allowing visitors to send email by clicking on a live link. Because your address is invisible, email harvesting programs can't capture it and spammers can't save it to their mailing lists. Note: If you reply to a message sent via BAEN Mail, the recipient can see your address. Even so, we've included a "don't link" box for you to check if you don't want a clickable email link in your listing.

Why doesn't my business listing appear instantly after I submit it?

All new submissions are reviewed for accuracy and appropriate placement before posting. We work hard to review and post listings as quickly as possible, turnaround can vary from a few minutes to a few hours.
