BAEN's custom equine-specific
Classified Ads system enables users to manage their own ads directly via a
user control panel,
implements advanced search functions to allow
users to find specific ads quickly, and includes other helpful features such
"BAENmail" which conceals email addresses from spammers. Read our

BAEN's database-driven classified ads are
self-serve; you can easily post and edit your own
text-only and photo ads 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week. All you need is a user ID and password.
There is no charge to register and you won't be added to an advertising mailing
list.

and sign up, then click the link
"Logon now" on the confirmation screen to access your control
panel.
Already have your user ID and password? Go to http://results.bayequest.info/member.php
and log on to access your control panel. From your control panel you
can post and modify your classified ads, business listings, and calendar
listings, as well as update your user information.

Do I have to be a paid BAEN member to
register and post classified ads?
No, anyone can become a
registered user and post classified ads regardless of membership status. Registration
and text-only ads are free of charge. We do charge a fee for posting
photo ads, payable on-line by credit card or PayPal. Note: Advertised
horses, items and services must be located in California unless
otherwise specified. Paid Members receive additional benefits such
as priority ad ranking and photo ad discounts - please click
here for details.
Is there a
charge to post an ad on BAEN?
Text-only ads are free of
charge for horses/items/services located in California or having unique
local significance (if you're submitting an ad from out of state please
check our guidelines at www.bayequest.com/outofstate.htm).
We charge a reasonable fee for photo ads; please see complete pricing at
www.bayequest.info/adpricing.htm.
I wasn't able
to pay for my photo ad when I submitted it, what do I do now?
If you're
unable to pay for your photo ad at the time you submit it, you may use
either of the following payment links within 24 hours:
1. Use our
secure form at http://results.bayequest.info/b001/payment.php
to pay by credit/debit card or Paypal.
2. If the
above form has denied your card information or gives you difficulty for
any reason, use our alternate secure form at https://secure.azc.com/dvsmith/order3.html.
If you've changed
your mind and don't want a photo in your ad, let
us know and we'll turn it into a free text-only ad for you.
Am I going to get a bunch of spam or
junk mail from BAEN if I become a registered user or post a classified ad?
The answer to this is No and
Maybe. (1) No: Registered Users will not be added to
an advertising mailing list. Registered
users may occasionally receive emails from BAEN alerting them to
important user issues, but whenever possible we will post these alerts
on our News
and Updates page rather than send them by email. Unlike many web directories BAEN does
NOT participate in direct email
marketing to users or members, nor do we sell or share your contact
information with others. Please see our Privacy
Policy. If you choose to include an email link in your
ad, your actual email address will be concealed. (2) Maybe: While
BAENmail conceals your address from
harvesting programs, remember that our site is open to the public. This
means that if you include an email link in your ad, anyone can manually
click on that link to send you a BAENmail message. See our Tips on Preventing Spam.
Do the
classified ads provide any protection against spammers and email harvesting
programs?
Yes. email links in the
classified ads employ BAENmail. This email system operates from BAEN's
server and conceals the address of the recipient while allowing visitors
to send email by clicking on a live link. Because your address is
invisible, email harvesting programs can't capture it and spammers can't save it to their mailing lists. Note: If you reply to a
message sent via BAEN Mail, the recipient can see your address. Even so,
we've included a "don't link" box for you to check if you
don't want a clickable email link in your ad. If you don't want to
include an email link then you must provide some other way for
interested parties to contact you, such as a telephone or cell number.
Why doesn't
my submission immediately appear in the classified ads after I submit or
renew it?
All new submissions and
renewals are
reviewed for accuracy and appropriate placement before posting. We work hard to review and post classified ads
as quickly as possible, so most ads typically appear within a few hours.
How are classified
ads displayed and ranked?
When browsing, ads are displayed in descending
chronological order in all ad categories. In search results, all photo
ads are displayed first followed by text ads.
On
any given date Member photo and text ads will be ranked above non-member photo
and text ads ads. For more information on

What are your
specifications for photo ads?
(1) File
Format: Photos uploaded to our classified ads system must be either .jpg
or .gif format. If your photo is in a different file format such
as .bmp or .tif and you are not able to reformat it yourself, email it
to info@bayequest.com along with
your ad ID number or ad Title and we'll upload it for you. Photo
collages are OK, but all images must be static, please do not submit
animated files. (2)
File Size: The maximum file size for photos is 600K. As digital or
scanned photos are typically larger than 600K, these files must be
resized/compressed before uploading. You can do this
yourself using commonly available photo editing tools such as
Picasa from Google
or
Image Resizer for Windows XP.
Please note we cannot provide technical support for these or any other photo editing tools; use at your
own risk. (3)
Photo Dimensions (height/width): To allow your photo to display without
scrolling, the maximum dimensions are 400 pixels high and 413 pixels
wide. We
crop/resize/compress nearly every photo that's uploaded, so don't worry if you don't have the tools to match these
specs, we will do it for you. Some folks
enjoy editing/cropping/resizing their own photos, others would prefer
not to. If you have difficulty uploading your photo for any reason, just
email it to us along with your ad ID number or ad Title and we'll
take care of it for you.
I
cant see the ad navigation links / Classified ad links aren't working

I see blank spaces instead of text
Your
Internet Protection Software, Ad Blocking, or Anti-Popup software is the
likely culprit. Many individuals and
business networks are using Internet protection/ad
blocking software such as Norton NIC, Google, etc. and
leaving all default features turned on. These
ad-blocking programs can interfere with your ability to
navigate this and other commerce web sites by hiding and
disabling
legitimate links. Click
here for details. Our site has been tested on Internet
Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, and Safari. If you're using a different browser
and encounter difficulties while browsing our site,
please let us know the name/version of your browser then contact your browser manufacturer for
assistance.
