Each week our camp will focus on 10 to 12 children. Children will learn a variety of horsemanship skills: Everyone will have a great time (and come home dirty). We will maximize the time spent with the horses. The kids will learn how to ride a horse and depending on individual experience, training will be given accordingly. Each summer Maplewood Stables offers one of the top horse camps in Reno, NV. The camp is a beginner's horsemanship day camp, covering grooming, parts of the horse, care of tack, and similar topics in addition to riding. Typical activities include lessons, grooming, stable management, horse care, along with a demonstration from the farrier, and a tour of the veternarian clinic. Coastside Horse Camp, Coastside Horse Camp is a small group summer riding camp on the coast. Ideal for children with some horse background who wish to enhance thier knowledge and skill level. Activities include learning basic horsemanship skills, horse maitenence and ground manners, how to lounge, a shoeing demonstration, and some horse related art projects.
